Program The Unity Council is a non-profit community development corporation Summary committed to enriching the quality of life of families primarily in the Fruitvale District of Oakland. Its primary focus has been to create a healthier and safer community for families and residents by implementing and managing integrated programs addressing the economic, social, and physical development.

Responsibilities
The Substitute position is on an on-call basis; the duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•  Assist and support Head Cook and Cook in preparation of all necessary meals and snacks;
•  Assist in serving food and in cleanup of all eating areas;
•  Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
•  Experience as working as a cook;
•  Ability to help maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen;
•  Ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural team;
•  Bilingual Spanish/English or Asian Language/English preferred;
•  Awareness and commitment to safe use of all equipment and supplies and safe lifting techniques.
