2009 Calendar At A Glance | Who We Are

The HomeOwnership Center (HOC) works to improve neighborhood conditions in the Fruitvale/San Antonio area by expanding first time homeownership opportunities for residents of Oakland and Alameda County. The HOC provides the prospective first time homebuyer with comprehensive bilingual homebuying workshops, financial fitness classes and housing counseling. This homebuyer education will train participants to improve their budget and credit profiles, shop for a loan, get a mortgage loan and maintain their home and finances after purchase. The prospective homebuyer will be introduced to private and public affordable mortgage lenders, Federal/State/Municipal mortgage assistance programs, real estate brokers, title companies and other homebuyer providers. The HOC provides the tools towards mortgage readiness and a successful home purchase that is within the financial resources of the homebuyer.
